BUMPDATE: WEEK 25

July 11, 2016

How Far Along?
 25 weeks
Weight Gain:

15 pounds
Maternity Clothes?

Yes, I love being able to slip on comfortable pants and leggings-and then go eat!
Sleep?

I can tell I’m just on the brink of becoming uncomfortable. I keep tossing back and forth, and still try to get away with sleeping on my back.
Best moment this week?

I think the best feeling is just having my energy back for these last few weeks. I’m finally able to stay up late again, and not have to take a nap during the day.
Weird pregnancy moment?

I’m totally getting into “nesting mode” thinking about all the things I want to do/get done before the baby comes. The other day we were outside and I just picked up a broom and started wiping down all the cobwebs off the house! I’m sure the neighbors thought I looked ridiculous 6 months pregnant trying to reach the highest places of our house.
Movement:

We were sitting outside talking with family during the 4th of July, and all of sudden I just felt this foot or arm move across my stomach and then start kicking/punching nonstop. It was the most movement I’ve felt so far!
Food Cravings:
Squirt and Chocolate Milk.
Anything making you queasy?
No foods necessarily, but my nausea is just now letting up. And even still, every once and awhile, I’ll start to feel queasy.
Gender:
At our anatomy scan, the tech was trying to get a good picture of the gender. And baby would still not spread her legs! The tech got a quick peek and saw it was most likely a girl, but still wasn’t able to take a picture. Now I’m second guessing them though and wondering if this baby will come out a boy after all!
What I'm looking forward to:

I think I’m most looking forward to just spending some quality time enjoying Harper and summertime! Harper is at such a fun stage, but is keeping me running nonstop. I’m definitely NOT in a rush for this pregnancy to be over.

4TH OF JULY

July 5, 2016

The Fourth of July is my favorite holiday. BBQs, summer temperatures, and fireworks are pretty much how I wish I could spend every day! So it was even better when this year’s celebration landed on a Monday and it was a three day weekend of backyard partying.  Saturday we went and loaded up on Fireworks and had fun introducing Harper to “Little Poppers.” She wanted to step on them again and again, after she realized she couldn’t throw them down hard enough. She was SO excited by the little sound they made, and was even more impressed by the sparklers. Sunday we lit off fireworks at my parent’s house where they have the perfect lawn for it, and all fireworks are legal. Marcus’ sister and their family came out too and we sat back and watched as Marcus and Chad nearly had their arms blown off! Everyone loved the fireworks, and the “sparkler art.” Monday started off with a pancake breakfast, then handing out otter pops at the downtown Pasco parade, and then BBQ and swimming. Throughout the parade Harper’s hand would shoot out of her stroller with an empty otter pop and I could hear her saying “Od Pop, Od Pop!” which meant she wanted another.  It was SO cute! We finished the night with fireworks along the river, my favorite tradition, and came home and crashed. I was so tired by the end of the night; I could tell the day’s events had definitely caught up to me.

WELCOME TO THE THIRTY CLUB

June 27, 2016

Turning 30 years old seemed like a big milestone this year. So for my birthday what I really wanted was to spend quality time with Harper and Marcus. Especially, since our family would be changing so much this year with our new addition coming in October. I had been wanting to take Harper to the zoo because she LOVES animals, so we drove to Seattle for the weekend. Harper loved to see the lizards, lions, and flamingos and it was so fun to watch her recognize different animals that she had learned the sounds too. We even got to feed some of the birds which seemed like a pretty magical moment at the time-until they started pecking Harper when she got her hand too close! I was trying to so hard to keep still when I was laughing so hard at the look of shock on her face! That night we had a great dinner at Maggiano’s eating chocolate cake and pasta, and then stopping by Pike Place market the next morning. I can never leave Seattle without a stop at Pike’s Place to pick up a flower arrangement. They’re gorgeous, locally grown, and so cheap! I always have to look at all of them before finding the “perfect” bouquet. We couldn't get enough of trying all the samples and sniffing all the flowers. We had a great time until we realized all of the streets were being closed down because President Obama was driving into town. So we packed up our stuff and headed out before it got too crazy.

MAUI, HAWAII (WEEK 2)

June 6, 2016

Macadamia Nut Pancakes. Beach. Pool. Dinner. Repeat. This would probably be a good description of our second week in Maui. We moved further up north of Maui and stayed at a resort with some incredible pools. Harper loved the sandy beach play area, chasing the birds, and the Maui sweet onion chips! She would bring the bag everywhere saying "Chip! Chip!" We found some calmer beaches where she could play in the sand and we could sit back and enjoy the amazing scenery. We missed the Haertling crew so much, but it was also nice to be able to spend a few days with just our small family. Our last family vacation as a family of three (say what?)! We got to try some great food, meet some Instagram celebrities, and chow down on lots and lots of shaved ice. It was a relaxing week. Happy nine years to us.
