Over Thanksgiving break my friend Wendy and I ran in our first race, The 5th Annual Turkey Trot. It was freezing, it was early, but it was fun! The race was just a 5k but we were proud of ourselves for waking up early on Thanksgiving morning to run in it. Here we are before the race, about to turn into popsicles...
Then we had to wait for the gun shot. It was PACKED, 2400 people!
3.1 Miles in 30 minutes, no stopping! Here we are still smiling after the race, I promise we didn't smile through the whole thing. Thanks Wendy for being such a good partner and allowing me to "woo" at every mile marker, it was so fun to run with you!
P.S. Marilyn we looked out everywhere for you and Brandon, we figured Brandon would be the first one to the finish line but Marcus didn't see him. How did it go for you!?
Awww...I remember racing 3 mile runs. Hated it. Good job!
ReplyDeleteWay to go! I'm amazed at anyone who can run that far. You should come down here tomorrow. They're doing the annual Santa Run. With your registration you get a gift bag and a 5-piece santa suit! They're going to break the Guinness World Record for the most Santas in one gathering.
ReplyDeleteThat's awesome! I am too afraid to do something like that.
