The Traveling Orkin Act

May 29, 2008

Yesterday someone asked me what my address was...normally, not a very difficult question. However, these days we really don't have an address because we are currently living here. Yep, that's where you'll find us, in O'Fallon, IL. And next week we'll be in Eastern St. Louis...and the week after...Columbia, MO...and the week after, who knows! In relief society I was asked where Marcus and I were currently living and I had to admit sheepishly in the extended stay down the street. Oh such joys lie ahead of us this summer...

Speaking of relief society, this past Sunday we had a male teach our class! His wife (who was suppose to teach) was at home sick, and so he taught our class on prayer. It was definitely a first for me! Have any of you been taught by a male in relief society before? That poor man, how intimidating!Well for the next couple of days I will be working on some of these. My sister in laws decided that we should start card making once a month. Luckily for me that means I now have something to keep me busy with during the days...! What are you doing today?

Hello Ms. Transient. The only male that has ever taught in relief society for me is the Bishop.

I can't wait to get your cards. I'm excited for this.

You guys will have such great memories of this summer though. Great idea with the cards! I really need to make some, my supply has run low.

Today it is noon and I'm still in my pjs because I've been blogging all morning. Oh, and taking care of Madelyn :) I've got lots of random things on my To Do list, so I guess I should get busy. But first, a shower!

Oh Ashley, I just got a big smile when I clicked over to see where you were living. It will be those fun times remembered. I think having a male teach in RS would be really neat actually. I think he is wonderful for supporting his wife like that. You look like you will have some fun with those card projects. What fun SIL's you have. Are you sleeping in at the sleep inn?.. Take care.

Ashley,
The first 6 years of our marriage our address was "1/2 mile north of the P.O., Crystal Mtn, WA." A little trickey to find us since other people lived 1/2 mile N. of the P.O. too.
Once when I was teaching RS I asked a man (Jerry Carroll) to come and talk about the Atonement. He had a cool experience to share and it took most of the time. It was a little odd to see a man standing up there.
