Is It Christmas Yet?

September 17, 2008

Well my good friend Megan posted on her blog a great idea that her Stake is currently doing, and she was gracious enough to share it with all of us blogging buddies. From today (Wednesday) there are 100 days till Christmas...
The challenge:
For the next 100 days leading up to Christmas you have to give 100% of yourself to the gospel. It's a lot, I know, but it is already things we should be doing. I think it is a great idea to remind us what is really important in our lives. So here is the list of requirements:

Daily

Individual and family prayer

Individual and family scripture study
Acts of love and compassion to spouse (roommates or family)

Weekly

Date with spouse (or girl's night out...for my sassy single friends :)

Family home evening

Sabbath observance at ward of record

Magnify your calling

Monthly

Fast and payment of tithes and offerings

Temple Attendance

Home and Visiting Teaching

So, are you up for the challenge?

Great challenge, especially since these are things we should be doing anyways. Hopefully this just gets the habits started so they continue!

Hi Ashley, I haven't left you a comment before, but I have to today. I love this post and I love this challenge. I am totally up for it!

Just so you know, I am married to one of Marcus' cousins. Big family, isn't it?

And one more thing...I see that you have a Gilmore Girls quote on your side bar. I am pretty much obsessed with that show. Obsessed with to the point that I named my daughter Lorelai. Is that going to far??

What a cool idea! I'll have to give it a shot.

I sooooo miss those BYU games! But it was never the same after I wasn't cheering for them on the sidelines...the stands were just too far away.

Thanks for the challenge, Ashley. With a "big event" 5 days before Christmas, (Ashley's engagement is FINALLY official) I can see myself getting sidetracked now and then. This will make me try even harder. Hey! Only 90 more days to share your name!

I'm so thrilled that many of you are excepting this challenge! You will be blessed!

Amy-I didn't know you were a BYU cheerleader. That is awesome! And your right, it wouldn't be quite the same from the stands after being right there on the field!

Lisa- I am all about the Gilmore Girls, even the Gilmore Girls re-runs. I can't get enough of em!

Carolyn-I'm so sad I won't be able to share the Ashley Henry name much longer; No more A. Henry "squared" :( That is so exciting for the two of them though. Only 90 more days to plan the wedding!
